Patch 1.0.3: Day One Update for Echoes of Aincrad

Update Overview

Bandai Namco released Update File Ver.1.0.3 on July 10, 2026 — the day-one patch for Echoes of Aincrad on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Confirm your version on the title screen after applying the update. Xbox Series X|S distribution began Friday, July 10, 2026 onward; other platforms received the patch at launch.

This update is mandatory for demo save transfer and includes broad balance adjustments across weapons, sword skills, and enemy scaling. Apply it while connected to the internet before attempting Carry Over or starting a fresh retail save. See the Save Transfer Guide for step-by-step import instructions.

Feature Additions

Demo save data transfer is now fully supported in the retail build when running Ver.1.0.3 or later. Transfer from update file Ver.1.0.2 is also possible, but Bandai Namco recommends the latest patch for the smoothest Carry Over flow.

If you launched the full game before patching, you can still transfer demo data after updating — the Carry Over prompt appears on first boot or after deleting all save slots and creating a new file, per the June 23 save transfer guide.

Balance Adjustments

Weapon performance across all six types received tuning. Sword Skills, Combination Skills, and Support Skills were adjusted for clearer power curves. ATK values for Slash mechanics — Reversal, Parry, and Dodge — were rebalanced.

Enemy parameters and spawn counts per difficulty level were revised. Event scenes and lighting received polish. Step motion and invincibility frames were extended; rolling and stepping behavior was adjusted. Fall damage reactions and recovery animations from high drops or deep water were shortened.

Unique MOD and EX-MOD balance for weapons and shields was updated. For build planning after the patch, revisit the Weapon Tier List and EX-MOD Setups pages as community rankings settle.

Support Item Set Bonus

As appreciation for updating, Bandai Namco distributed a Support Item Set to aid early adventures. The set becomes available after progressing until the main quest "Iori's Request" can be played. Claim items once per save from the Chest at the Inn.

Contents: Spark TaStone ×10, High Numbinlisman ×10, Blink Talisman ×10, Luminous Talisman ×10, High Bomb Stone ×10, High Flame Mine ×10. These consumables complement the Starter Pack in Deluxe and Ultimate editions — see Consumables for usage tips.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where the player's motion would freeze after certain actions.

Fixed a bug where a dead zone was set during mouse operation on PC.

Fixed a bug where enemies would stand still or get stuck on some maps.

Additional minor bug fixes were included. PC players should verify mouse sensitivity after the dead-zone fix — adjust bindings on the PC Controls page if needed.

Known Issues and Workarounds

Issue 1 — Thicket Visgo (Opportunity sub-quest): If a specific attack hits the Ark Boss Thicket Visgo while it is in its digging motion, it may not re-emerge from underground. Workaround: Use Return to Checkpoint from the map menu to return to the last Safety Area or Warp Terminal, then challenge the boss again.

Issue 2 — Event rendering: Under specific equipment conditions, the player character may not render correctly in some event scenes. Bandai Namco plans to address both issues in a future update.

For general exploration stuck states, use Settings → Gameplay Settings → Force Relocation to move to a safe location. Return to Checkpoint and Return to Town are documented in the Official Guide to Aincrad.
